Around fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then located many other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its source; authorities are presently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were working "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the community for information.
A senior political figure stated the vandalism left him speechless and had to be solved quickly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
